Artist's Description

Construction began on Lake Sam Rayburn Reservoir September 7, 1956 and it was completed March 29, 1965. Its main purpose was to be used for flood control, hydro electric powder and conservation of water, although it has also become a popular fishing, boating and recreational lake, boasting some of the best bass fishing in Texas, and hosting an astonishing 300 fishing tournaments annually. It encompasses 114,000 acres and stretches 79 miles through the Angelina National Forrest to the north of Lufkin, Texas.
Originally called the McGee Bend Damn and Reservoir, its name was changed to the Sam Rayburn Dam and Reservoir, in honor of Speaker of The House Sam Rayburn who died shortly before the Reservoir was to open.

In 1993 I graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in Visual Communications. Eventually I found myself being drawn toward the surrealism that can come from photography. Shape, lighting and composition, all defining what I see. ...
